FIFTEEN YEARS using industry-standard Adobe applications on the Mac to design and produce catalogs, brochures, and marketing collateral. Using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to produce graphics ready for the web. Troubleshooting and repairing files. Organization of digital assets to facilitate productivity. Communicating clearly with supervisors and creative directors to accurately express their vision. Working to increase productivity through improved processes.


COLLABORATED on transition to all-digital operation at independent Yellow Pages publisher. Recreated existing ads for Fallbrook Yellow Pages directory publisher in up-to-date software. Developed the requisite style-sheets and templates for future directories.

PLANNED and created marketing collateral for a wide variety of customers. In a high energy multitasking environment requiring meticulous attention to detail, consulted with customers, designed their pieces, and output resulting files to digital output devices.

CREATED proper file management procedures to facilitate access to digital assets. These procedures, while not required by the company, ensured access to old customer files, digital assets, fonts, and templates.

IMPLEMENTED consistent visual identity with the use of style-sheets and templates. Used these tools to drastically reduce the time required to produce ads and ensured the customer's business identities were maintained.


NORTH COUNTY TIMES / Escondido, CA, 2004–2008 / Graphic Artist. Created a wide variety of advertising for customers (including automobile dealerships) of the North County Times. Applied industry standards to ensure proper newsprint output of customer supplied digital files. Excelled at improving copy for conciseness and appearance resulting in improved marketing impact. Developed productive work-flow with more complicated ads by using InDesign’s style-sheets and layers. Sat on grant review committee for the McCormick-Tribune Foundation.

KINKO’S / Encinitas, CA, 1996–2004 / Graphic Artist and Digital Output Specialist. Used InDesign, QuarkXPpress, Illustrator, and Photoshop to create communications solutions for a wide variety of customers. Troubleshot problems with customer supplied files and ensured digital output. Served existing documents to a wide variety of output devices. Scanned photographs to correct specifications. To achieve desired print outcomes I regularly: retouched and manipulated photographs, used my knowledge of common digital file types and how they relate to each other and the strengths and weaknesses of each one for specific purposes, used software to convert file types as necessary.

FALLBROOK DIRECTORY / Fallbrook, CA, 1995–1996 / Temporary Full Time Graphic Artist. Created ads for existing customers. Took photographs for ads. Assisted in the transition to an all digital operation. Recreated existing ads built originally in outdated software for digital output. Built templates, structures, style sheets, and specifications for future directories.

NORTH COAST CHURCH / Vista, CA, 2006–Present / Volunteer Computer Operator. Operate the computer during services using Microsoft Powerpoint for the display of announcements, lyrics, and message notes at precise pre-determined times.

OPERATION PHOTO RESCUE / Fredericksburg, VA, 2006–Present / Photo Restoration Artist. Participated in a restoration trip to New Orleans in 2006 for which I was featured in the North County Times and Fox 6 News. Subsequently have completed over 60 pro bono restorations for this organization which offers free restoration of photographs damaged by natural disasters.
